Ganges river Dolphins

Dolphins are one of the oldest creatures in the world along with some species of turtles, crocodiles and sharks. The Ganges river dolphin was officially discovered in 1801. Ganges river dolphins once lived in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna and Karnaphuli-Sangu river systems of Nepal, India, and Bangladesh. But the species is extinct from most of its early distribution ranges.
The Ganges river dolphin can only live in freshwater and is essentially blind. They hunt by emitting ultrasonic sounds, which bounces off of fish and other prey, enabling them to “see” an image in their mind. They are frequently found alone or in small groups, and generally a mother and calf travel together. Calves are chocolate brown at birth and then have grey-brown smooth, hairless skin as adults. Females are larger than males and give birth once every two to three years to only one calf.

One of the most magnificent animals in the world - Tiger, is one of the most endangered. The tiger is not just a wild charming species that lives in forest. A cat of Majesty, Strength and Beauty.

The tiger is a unique animal which plays an important role in the maintenance of our ecosystem. Tiger is a classic predator and is at the top of the food chain which keeps the population of wild preys in check, thereby maintaining the balance between prey and the vegetation upon which they feed.

Over the passing years number of tigers in India has fallen to less than 4,000. Poaching and clearing of habitat for agriculture have been the main reasons for this decline.

One tiger we protect, we protect about a 100 sq. km of area saving other species living in its habitat. It’s not about saving a beautiful animal but for us to live a little longer as the forests are known to provide clean air, water, temperature control and many others. So that our planet can still be home to our children and animals.

Three fourth of the Earth’s surface is covered with water. But only 3% water is “fresh water” and the rest 97% “saltwater” is unsuitable for drinking and agriculture purposes.
Life is sustained by water.
To meet our demands of growth in population and economic development we are destroying fresh water ecosystems.

According to studies held globally main fresh water users include household and domestic 10 %, industrial 20 %, and agricultural 70 %.

Millions of people do not have access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation usages.
For future generations of humans and wildlife, protecting freshwater systems is a must.
We are facing a deep crisis of freshwater resources.

Do not take water as "taken for granted".
